Do these areas have local neighborhood pools and swim teams if you live there? Or do you have to join Greenville CC, and does anyone have an idea of the membership cost for pool/tennis only (if they even offer that)?

Yes, competitive swimming is HUGE in the Upstate - see the SAIL website - most North Main residents join Stone Lake Pool - great swimming pool. I do not recommend joining Greenville CC - it's very expensive and I hear their swim team may dissolve in the future.

What about for Augusta Road? I have looked excessively at that website, but it looks like each club hosts the neighborhoods directly affiliated with that particular pool/community?

You don't have to live in North Main to be a member of Stone Lake Pool - you can live in the Augusta Road area and still belong to Stone Lake (not far of a drive).
