So the creepy abandoned old hospital that I thought would make an amazing Halloween attraction has been torn down (Wade Hampton and Memorial Drive).

Does anyone know what's going in its place?

Nothing is being built. They demolished it in hopes it would be easier to sell.

That's depressing. I thought someone had bought it and was about to build. My mom heard rumors a Publix was going there. I honestly don't know what should be built, but I would love a HomeGoods.

I agree, Greer could use a TJ Maxx or Ross. Another thing that I like would be a town center, mixed use building (restaurants/bars, shops, independant retail) with apartments on top. Another thing that I heard mentioned was a movie theater.

Rumors have existed of Publix coming to the city of Greer either near the northwest corner of West Wade Hampton Boulevard and North Buncombe Road, or at Riverside Crossing. It would be nice to see Publix have one or two stores in the city of Greer.

Greer needs a multiplex indeed.

This reminds me of Town Center in Mount Pleasant...that would be awesome if Greer got something like that. We really need that type of shopping so it limits the amount of people who travel on Woodruff.

If the city of Greer wants to pursue a lifestyle center, it would have to be closer to Interstate 85. If one is to be outside of Greer, Wade Hampton Boulevard in Taylors at the northeast corner of Saint Mark Road could be a good location.
