Hi!

My family is coming to your fair city to see The Lion King Sunday evening. We're arriving early to explore downtown Greenville and Falls Park, and if the weather is nice, we'd like to purchase take-out at a nearby restaurant to have a picnic; if not, we'll dine in for a late lunch/early dinner. The show is at 6:30.

I've looked online, and am hoping for more personalized recommendations. Is there a restaurant with good take-out you'd specifically recommend for a picnic? (or dine-in, of course) We are trying to keep the per person cost to no more than $20/person, hopefully closer to $10 - $15. I saw Brick Street Cafe, which looks like a good option (though I wish they were open between 3 and 5:30). Are their prices in line with what I'm looking for?

Which other places should I take a look at? Thanks for any recommendations! I can see from my googling that I'll want to return and spend more time (and money for what look like very good restaurants!) there.

Looks like Brick Street Cafe isn't open Sundays according to your link.

I learned from EnglishCream to look at the days they're open - closed on Sundays. Thank you, though!

Yes, and there are picnic tables under the Main Street bridge along the trail.

I suggest Nose Dive. The sandwiches and salads are in your price range, portions are large and the food is good.

All the suggestions above are good. Rick Erwin's deli is just a block or so from Falls Park so would get my vote for picnic takeout.

Edit: oh darn. Saw the post they're closed Sundays. Sorry! Try Chicora Alley, practically across the street or Passerelle (with Al fresco dining overlooking the Falls). Passerelle would be more expensive than your budget. Chicora Alley would be within.
