Lots of homes being built along or near Brockman McClimon. This should keep the growth coming this way as more workers look for homes near the plant. I wonder if more commercial development on 14 and 101 will come with it.

I see commercial development on Highway 101 South. South Highway 14, in Spartanburg County, will be more medical use development.

Probably temp. Don't forget about what this will do to the supplier network also.

The supplier network will add jobs also to keep up with BMW's increased production.

Good to see more jobs and continued investment. New production of an even larger model in the form of the X7, a three-row vehicle.

BMW is designing the X8 to follow the X7 probably in 2020.

The shutdown of the main hall is starting and will last a month. This is the longest shutdown at the Spartanburg plant which will realign and add new lines for the X7 production.

Nearly 200 tons of steel will be removed. Over 4000 contractors will swarm the production hall over the next month.

Since 2014, BMW has committed 1.9 BILLION dollars to plant Spartanburg expansion (including future training).

There are more hotels in Greenville for contractors to stay at. The Greenville News thinks differently.

Somehow doubt that contractors are going to be paying the $170± average rates to stay downtown, but maybe more hotel growth in the city will take off some pressure on the ones on the Eastside (Pelham Rd and 385 corridors)?

I'm guessing it won't be a full 4000 for the entire month. Depending on the skill level/pay of the guys they are bringing some of them may end up room sharing. But no doubt it will probably be a good month for the hotels on Pelham and the 85 Business loop in Spartanburg. But I doubt many of them will be staying downtown.
