Since it's raining and our apartment rental is in Greenville, I decided to do some shopping -- Haywood Mall and Woodruff Road. Whew! That traffic made me think I was back in Northern Virginia!

So glad we picked Eastside Spartanburg!

Big Red Beth -- our house is very close to the entrance to the trail. I'm looking forward to exploring it

LOL! Those roads are fine if you hit them at the right time. Between 3 and 7, and all of Saturday afternoon I stay far a away!

You are not far from Croft State Park, either.

Woodruff and Haywood today -- 10 am - 1 pm -- the traffic was awful.

It seems there are so many wonderful parks/trails to explore! Once we're settled, I am anxious to go! Tomorrow though, back to Greenville -- grandson to children's museum! I heard there's a chance of one opening in Spartanburg, too. 🙂

Welcome to the east side of Spartanburg! Best side of town!

I know you've already settled on a house, but I can vouch that this one (just went on the market) might have fit your needs very well - one story, in your price range, and most things have been renovated in the past 5 years. It belonged to friends who recently relocated out of state. http://www.cbcaine.com/homes/SC/Spar...agt&aid=905474

Lol -- yeah I saw that as soon as we contracted the other. Oh well. Que sera sera

The one we bought had a finished basement which was a huge advantage. Husband does some volunteer work that involves a boatload of equipment and we needed dry storage.

We really like the Converse Heights area but came to the conclusion that the houses in our budget were slightly too small or needed too much work. The rehabbed ones were out of our price range. Fernwood seemed a good compromise.

We've already met some nice people in the area and haven't even moved in yet. A nearby church seems to be a good fit, too.

Really feeling good about this decision. Thanks so much to all who helped us with information!
