I made some retail observations in the Taylors community in Greenville County, South Carolina, this past week.

Mattress Expo, Taylors Pointe, 3207 Wade Hampton Boulevard, Taylors, South Carolina 29687-2803

Mattress Expo has closed its Taylors Pointe store. The location was originally Blockbuster Video.

Taylors Drug Company, 3324 Wade Hampton Boulevard, Taylors, South Carolina 29687-2902

Taylors Drug Company, an independent pharmacy, has closed. It recently had a "retirement sale".

I have not ventured to Taylors recently. Does the former Ruby Tuesday remain vacant? And what about the BI-LO which closed down? Those appear to be prime spots for redevelopment, as the neighboring Walmart attracts business. And seems as if Taylors could support another full service restaurant of some sort at that Ruby Tuesday location. And does the former Radioshack remain vacant across the street?

The former BI-LO #5289, Hampton Point, 3039 Wade Hampton Boulevard, Taylors, South Carolina 29687-2777, is becoming Habitat for Humanity of Greenville ReStore.

The former Ruby Tuesday, Taylors Square, 3025 Wade Hampton Boulevard, Taylors, South Carolina 29687-2715, remains vacant.

Besides used car dealerships, the only other newer retailer I can think of is Four Seasons Carwash (2900 Wade Hampton bvld)

St. Clair Signs also recently moved out of 3184 Wade Hampton Blvd, Taylors, SC 29687 to their new location at 1334 Miller Road Greenville, SC.

I find it strange that the former Ruby Tuesday's stays vacant. I thought someone would have taken it over by now.

Starbucks and Highway 55 Burgers recently opened in the old Sonic location in the plaza which contains Publix.

True! The restaurant scene is "exploding" in Taylors :-). I was only thinking through retail for the purpose of this thread.

Taylors' restaurant scene has grossly decayed.
