I'm 25 and single and very much a liberal. I'm considering moving to Greenville because it looks like such a beautiful place with great weather, great home prices and also very dog friendly.

I'm wondering if I would stand any chance at all in the dating scene because I'm not conservative. I won't date someone that has religious views that are on the opposite end of mine.

I guess what I'm asking is...is there a decent amount of liberal singles there sprinkled in among all the conservative folks? Or would I likely be growing old alone if I moved there? lol

yes, absolutely, you'll be perfectly fine. you'll love it. it can be a little hard to meet people at first I think, but there are plenty of opportunities, etc.

There is a "meetup" (hint) website online as well, where people who would like to find others with similar interests in the area can successfully do just that.

There is definitely a group like you, CoffeeAddict. No nead to be worried about seclusion.

coffeeaddict, let me know how it goes for you! I don't think I stand a chance in the dating scene when I get there as I am neither a liberal or a conservative! plus my religious views are a bit out there according to some people! oh well, there are plenty of people in the area so I am sure that there are people that we can relate to.

aside from the fact that I don't want anybody moving here... I'm telling you this for your own good. You will not like it here. This is the buckle of the Bible Belt. it'll be hard to find a liberal that's even your type here. Even if you did, her conservative parents might not like you. I'm serious, this place in general would not be you're type. I mean, we have Bob Jones University here...that says enough.

Default Dont listen to guestposter

I have lived in Greenville for the past four months. I moved down from Washington DC to get away from the people and the cost of living....I am a democratic consultant working for the Obama campaign and various other campaigns...I have had NO trouble meeting people and fitting in just fine. You will be fine.

my cousin is a liberal. and she hates it here along with her liberal friends.

this person could find some liberals but if he wants a bigger pool this is not the place.

He is a SHE.

Thank you for the responses. Sounds like there may be a good mix of people there and I might not have to grow old with fifteen cats to keep me company. lol

I second the question, what is wrong with Asheville?
