I am favor of town centers like this that allow a "live, work and play" concept. I am surprised thay haven't started popping up yet. It's a trend that has been in other cities for several years now. It will be interesting to see.

Magnolia Park was supposed to be like this until the developer decided to cut and run. Birkdale Village is amazing by the way which this development is slated to be like.

I agree. Magnolia Park would have been perfect for this. Let's hope Hughes comes through with this in Mauldin. It will be a terrific investment for the area.

I thought Verdae Blvd was supposed to look like this along the road but everything they have built so far looks far from it. It doesn't have a town center feel to it at all.The little village next to the park is nice though.

I tend to agree. Except for the village area next to the park and possibly the under construction town center along Laurens Road, Verdae is not the TND development we were promised.

It will be nice to start seeing these around. Birkdale Village is a great example. I too thought Verde was supposed to be a town center. Magnolia Park and Verde would have been good locations for a town center as well.

There is still much retail coming to Verdae; that area where the Y and Stella's are are just the first phase.
