Hello,
We are a retired couple thinking of moving from New England to the Upstate. We've visited several times, and explored mainly in Pickens, Easley, and Travelers Rest. I've seen a couple of nice houses listed in Six Mile, and wondered if anyone had thoughts on living there. How convenient is it to shopping in Pickens or Easley? Is the downtown fairly walkable?
Any insights would be welcome. Thanks!

There is nothing much in the Town of Six Mile. For shopping, Central, Clemson, and Seneca would be closer.

The closest shopping will be in Clemson and Liberty. Both of those are close to a lot of Six Mile. A lot of residences with a Six Mile address are really out in the country. You'll probably want to use google maps to see how far each individual address is from the Ingles in Clemson and the Ingles in Liberty as those will probably be the 2 closest grocery stores. There is also a Lowes home improvement store in Clemson along with several other grocery stores. There is a Walmart supercenter located between Clemson and Liberty.

Beyond that limited shopping, you'll have to drive to Easley, Greenville, or Anderson.

Thanks for the replies. Sounds like we'd probably be happier closer to where we've been looking.
