Oh.. Why couldn't they be down here by me.. Smelling coffee every day..
I used to work off New Cut in Spartanburg and right there near Adidas there's a cracker factory. Oh, the days they were making the garlic crackers.. It smelled good for miles.
I am amazed that so many jobs can be created to meet demand for those drinking coffee flavored sawdust from a little plastic pod. Only in America!
About 5+ years ago, my wife bought a Keurig coffee maker. I had tried coffee from typical coffee makers ("Mr Coffee", Bunn, etc) for years - all disgusting to me. HOWEVER, I was blown away by Keurig's coffee. I will NEVER use another maker. In fact, I brought my personal Keurig recently on vacation since my rental house had none (yes, I inquired about that)
I see many Baby Boomers have great fondness for their "Mr. Coffee" makers LOL (including my mother) - many older coffee drinkers don't understand the Keurig craze. I only see Keurig's demand grow - I'm surprised they only need 500 employees!

My mother was one of those loyal Mr Coffee makers, would drink any thing else. She stayed with us one night a few years ago, and while she was in the shower, I made her a cup from my Keurig. Said it was the best cup of coffee she ever had and bragged on it all morning until I showed her the KCup. She has a Keurig at home now.
Keurig bringing billions of plastic cups to our landfills.
Keurig bringing e-coli to your morning cup of Joe.
I don't use a Keurig for many reasons (prefer my French press), but the main reason is that I'm lazy and cleaning a Keurig takes way more time than using my French press.
And if you don't clean your Keurig all the time, you are drinking bacteria.

Ill agree on the cup part. Seems I read something or saw something about Green Mountain trying a more biodegradable material, though.
We clean ours once a week, takes all of 30 seconds to take the parts off and stick in the dishwasher.
