Foreign vs. domestic - probably a lot of enthusiasts for both in the area. I know there are a lot of car enthusiasts that work at BMW and Michelin, along with a lot of the area parts suppliers like ZF.

Cars and Coffee of the Upstate has a FB page and I think they meet the 4th Saturday of the month at the Michelin building off of Pelham Rd.

I posted this information on the board sometime back but I'll re-post it here, hoping I don't get fussed at for cross posting.

I've never had any problems, as a spectator, at any of the local race tracks. Generally the case, unless you go looking for trouble. (entering your car in any of the races nullifies that last statement) Keep in mind that the average local race crowds are pretty much made up of hard working blue collar good ol' boys. Salt of the earth Walmart shoppers, all, but I will say it's not exactly the place you want to be making fun of anybody you might encounter...(grin)

Here are some of the local motor head meccas. Enjoy.

Here is a calendar of local car shows in the upstate... CRUISE INS & CAR SHOWS 2013, UPSTATECARSHOWS.COM Cal 2018

"Cars and Coffee" car shows at the Michelin Headquarters are also a big monthly event. This is a very egalitarian event with cars ranging from rat rod VW's to rare antiques and hot rods or rare and Exotic rich boy toys. http://sandlapperbmw.org/?tribe_even...entDisplay=all

There is a mixture. More people are starting to turbocharge regardless of what it is, which I've actually been into for years.

My 66’ Chevelle SS came from a guy just outside Greenville who had an absolutely amazing collection of great US muscle cars including not one but two L88 vettes
I get the impression from various collectors that a lot of nice cars and great work gets done in the area.
