Wow. Quite a bit has changed in 2 years with the area. It's seems like it's growing daily. Most would consider Simpsonville to be a family friendly area, so I guess it depends what you're looking for in retirement. Of course Greenville is right up the interstate, so I consider it Greenville. You should take another visit.

Don't forget Travelers Rest as well. A charming little town and my favorite if I would have to choose in between Simpsonvile, Fountain Inn, and Travelers Rest. It is in some mountains which is great.

Many retirees do end up in Simpsonville, and there are new communities there that are geared towards empty nesters.

That’s a wide open question. How about telling what you’re looking for — housing style, price range, activities, expectations, etc and then we’ll say whether it fits your needs.

Yes, you can buy my house. Nice, walkable neighborhood. Lots of retirees.

Liberty is a small town in a rural area. I'd be concerned with access to healthcare and a hospital if I was thinking about retiring there. Other than a newer Ingles, there isn't much in the way of shopping in Liberty.

Easley is bigger, has more shopping, and a small hospital. It is also a lot closer to Greenville. It has become more of a commuter town for people working in Greenville in recent years. It isn't the prettiest town in the area but it isn't bad, either.

OP I lived on LI for 10 years. Liberty and Easley might be too far from the good bagels and pizza, LOL!

Liberty is a typical rural small town. Easley is a cute tiny city of about 21,000 people. It has a lot of the basic shopping in it.
