Columbia vs Augusta vs Greenville (Spartanburg, Anderson: homes, construction, college)

What city has more construction going on? Anybody rode and been to these three cities recently? Im wondering how they stack up against each other?

Each has a steady amount, but I would say that Greenville (and the Upstate) and Columbia have much more underway and planned than Augusta at this point. I think as a whole, considering the rapid growth in Greenville and elsewhere in the Upstate, this area is as healthy as any place in the state in the construction industry. New buildings and homes are going up at a steady rate, though obviously not as rapidly as during the best economic years.

Here is how i see it... Columbia is a hip college town thats the hub of the midlands with a big city feel without being overwhelming . Greenville on the other hand is the cosmopolitan little brother a little younger but cool in it's own right with a diffrent flair and vibe and it offers big city fun with a small town attitude. Augusta wants to be hip and cosmopolitan but just cannot seem to get there and is just struggling into the 20th century.. With proper planning and leadership could be a strong contender in 10 years or so.

Skyliner is right. If you expand "Greenville" to the entire Upstate (Greenville Spartanburg and Anderson), its a lot more construction.

Will this is true most of the construction is indeed in Greenville County itself.

"Greenville" and the surrounding areas that make up the "Upstate" is growing faster than the Augusta area.
