We're a mid-20's married couple and cannot seem to find anyone in Greenville/Simpsonville that does not have kids. We don't have kids, aren't interested in having kids for years, and nothing against couples that have kids, but it's just a different stage of life and we find it hard to relate. Plus when you have kids you can't just up and leave on a whim and we really enjoy being spontaneous. Do we just need to find somewhere else to live or are there people here that are around our age that don't have kids??

Oh, I dont think you can generalize, I'm sure there are some that don't have kids, sometimes it just takes a while. Check out meetup.com, put in your interest(s) and zip code - ie dining out, dancing, biking, young marrieds, pets, kayaking, board games, theater etc - am sure you'll be able to meet people w/ like interests. Good luck.

I don't, and many of my friends don't. This isn't the 1950s. :P

Hey, my wife and I are here in Simpsonville, also looking to make some friends. We don't have kids, either. We're in our late twenties.

Try being in your late 30s without kids, like my husband and me. We live in Greenwood and have met only one couple our age without kids. Of course we have friends with children. But the poster is right.....friendships develop differently when one couple has children and the other does not. Not having kids is definitely a different lifestyle choice for this region it seems. That is neither good nor bad...just different in an interesting way.

Thanks. Our post was certainly not intended to be mean-spirited at all - and I hope it didn't come across like that. It really is different and a little more challenging to relate to folks with kids. We have nothing against children or couples with kids whatsoever, rather we just want to meet others in a similar place in life.

we don't--unless you consider our bulldog a kid--which is understandable.

We know what you mean. We have a bulldog named Fred. He's our "child".

Oh, gosh no, you weren't mean-spirited at all. I hope my post didn't imply that you were. I was just letting you know it gets even more challenging to find couples without kids as you get older..... I said it isn't good or bad, just different, because I didn't want to come across as complaining. I'm the happy-go-lucky hippie chick, after all. And my "children" are my dog and cat.....dog has surgery tomorrow morning at 8:00 a.m. so any animal lovers out there, please think good thoughts!
