OK gang, my husband and I don't get to go away often, ok really never, but ..we have the day to ourselves tomorrow and are thinking about a trip to Asheville...yes I know, North Carolina ! Anyways, what would y'all suggest for us to do. Umm, Biltmore is more than I wanted to spend. I am exploring the net for ideas, but I am hoping there are some folks out there with great reccomendations...

There are so many things to do, but one of my favorites is a fun way to end the day.......sit on the huge porch at Grove Park Inn at sunset and have a drink. The porch faces west and the setting behind the mountains and downtown is spectacular. Cost nothing to sit on the porch, and drinks can be as cheap or expensive as you choose.

The Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa - Welcome

Biltmore is 42$ if I recall, when we went a few years ago. It is pricey, but we really enjoyed ourselves - and we agreed that it was money well spent.

It's good to hear some ideas on what to do up there - When I visited all I did was go to the local shops because I didn't know where else to go!
I did buy a killer pair of heels though
