Woot! It was originally supposed to open in Nov, but considering the current economy, we're glad to have it in March 2010.

Quote from Greenville News article: "Marcus said Great Escape negotiated an exclusive area with IMAX and locked up the Greenville market, which offered them protection against Regal installing an IMAX in one of its theaters or building a new theater in the Simpsonville market."

That's the way to do it.

Good to see this chain picked up the IMAX after Regal dropped the ball. Great news.

Another nail in the coffin for Magnolia Park. Menin needs to remove the "Hollywood 20 is getting an IMAX" from their website.

You mean there are sidewalks in the area? Lucky.

Maybe they should think about relocating it a block over on the old Simpsonville Chevrolet site.

While I am glad another group is interested in bringing an IMAX theater to Greenville, I am disappointed that they will monopolize the market by preventing any other developer from bringing one to the area. A location closer to the heart of Greenville would be much better, in my opinion, although I realize residents in Simpsonville will be happy to have one there.

Well, maybe if Menin and Regal would stop sitting on their hands then we could have gotten one in the city limits. Too bad too sad I guess. Besides, this isn't even going to be a real IMAX. The screen will be smaller.
