Pricey rescue under way at Downtown at the Gardens mall in Palm Beach Gardens Oops. So, when is Magnolia Park going to get built again? Myrtle Beach has Market Commons, Columbia has Village at Sandhill, Asheville has Biltmore Park, Huntsville has Bridgestreet, and Greenville has ???

Don't know, but Rooms to Go is coming along nicely. Another step in the process.

Yay, more big box stores. Costco wasn't enough. How about we just build a Walmart there too just to make it perfect. Where's the Cheesecake Factory, Trader Joes, Urban Outfitters, Z Gallerie, Apple, etc. at?

I didn't think any of those were even remotely confirmed, just speculation and hearsay.

So, in all your infinite wisdom, you're saying that the Magnolia Park site will just sit vacant forever, and somehow all developments like this aren't anchored by big box retailers.

OK, but don't throw Village at Sandhill into that group. It is full of moderate to cheap stores and not much better than any typical strip shopping center. I certainly hope Greenville aims higher than that.

Some of them I mentioned are and some aren't. It varies. Going by the looks of the place, it seems like it will sit vacant forever. Sometime over the next five years, I bet Haywood Mall will announce a major expansion that will steal Magnolia Park's potential tenants while that site on Woodruff Road will still sit empty.

Yeah Superplay USA, Costco, and Rooms To Go is aiming way higher. Menin is turning once was to be a great mixed use development into a joke.

That isn't aiming higher, but then that isn't the final development either. Take heart, at least Greenville has a more upscale mall than any of the others you listed.

A mall that is going to steal Magnolia Park's potential tenants. It's already happening with Apple. You snooze you lose. Menin had their chance but waited too long. Now Haywood Mall is going to prosper more and Crescent Place will get built instead. In five years, Magnolia Park will still be nothing but a pipe dream.

Doubtful that Crescent will get built for some time, but yes, Haywood should get even more solid.
With the prime piece of land that is the Magnolia site, if it doesn't get developed as Magnolia Town Center, it'll get developed at something good. A piece of land near a successful Whole Foods, a successful Target, Greenridge with restaurants like PFCHangs and solid middle to upper stores, doesn't stay empty long. Not to mention the strong demographics of the Woodruff Road area.
