Sorry to hear about your troubles yesterday---for some reason things like that always happen on Sundays! You were lucky to find anyone to help! I'm happy you got a maintenance from them!
Hope everyone has a good day!

all's well that ends well. Ya know I lived the first 70 years of my life without so much as a window AC unit....a couple of box fans in the window maybe. But here in FL....a/c makes it livable...especially considering the humidity. It must have taken guts to live here in the "good ol' days" pre a/c.

have a good day cyn

Isn't that the truth? I always marvel that the south was ever settled at all, since it is so unbearable in the summer.

Hurricane Report

Prayers for the people of Hati and Cuba and the Bahama Islands......then it looks as if it could swipe the east coast of florida.

It is not projected to come anywhere near where we are on the Gulf Coast.......but next it will head up to SC where my son and family live. They are watching closely to determine if they will need to evacuate (100 miles inland). When he was young and reckless he wouldnt even think of evacuating....but this time the three of them are ready.....I dont know about the dogs.

My thoughts and prayers are with all those who are in harms way.

Good morning all!
Elston I too will have those in harms way from this storm in my prayers. So far I think we may get some wind and rain but nothing really bad--or that is the report so far.......

I keep hearing conflicting reports regarding this storm...it's a little scary. I can't imagine how those feel who know they are in it's path! Prayers being said!

I think we are safe on the Gulf coast....I hope so because all the folks from the east coast are coming here for shelter.

I do worry for my son's family...they decided to hunker down in Mt Pleasant SC just outside of Charleston. They have two dogs....one large GShepherd and a cat........getting stuck in traffic and not being able to find a hotel and running out of gas and not being able to get back home........it sounded worse than losing power and getting wet.....lets hope and pray they made the right decision.

We are expecting it to pass Savannah tomorrow night at category 2. We are a bit inland so will just put away anything that might go flying, and hope for the best.

I wish all of you luck that the storm ends up veering east! (And staying at sea)
