I don't want to be part of this club but alas I now am.
Lost my hubbie on March 6th after a 13 month battle with that scourge cancer.

I am numb and feel so empty.

I returned him from Florida to where we spent our lives, NJ, for his funeral, so have plenty of family and friends around. I dread returning to FL and walking into that empty condo where he passed.

My sincere condolences to you kate......the numbness will help you thru the next several days.....and the presence of family and friends will help.....get you thru the funeral and the immediate time there after. After that the grief will be difficult......and you have to decide if you are going to stay in FL or NJ.

We are here to listen and support.

I don't think any of us really "wants" to be in this "club" but it is a part of life honestly. We live and we die. With death there are so many left behind to grieve---and that is what this thread is about. Sure it's not a fun happy go lucky topic but it is a matter of fact and to know you have a safe place to go and share can mean the world when we are grieving--I know for me it has been a God send! So Kate we are here for you too. I am so sorry for your loss and knowing what is to come but you will make it. And if you need that extra hand we are all here to lend it!

I am not personally grieving..........but I still come everyday. I have been on line friends with cyn for about 10+ years....and when I heard about her husband's illness and then death.....I came by to be a support. I did lose my mother and father some years ago and my younger sister died very young (cancer)......I am at the point with my mother that I feel her loving presence around me...all the time. I have a family altar with reminders of those who have died....and I light a candle in their memory and honor each morning...and I say a prayer of thanksgiving for the day.
