Very wicked storms here last night. Trees down all over town. We were lucky because I only have a few branches down and I can move those. I work tonight and am happy about that. This one girl likes her Friday nights off but can't afford to do it every week so she has been kind enough to give me a few of her nights when she can afford to do so.
My neighbor told me yesterday they are having a celebration of Jacks life at out church on May 9th. I will be there! It will be difficult but the family wants laughter and joy---no tears. As she told me Jack was miserable at the end so we need to be happy he is free from all of that and once again laughing! I get it and will join in knowing how my DH suffered at the end and being able to understand the joy of them being free again.
Hope everyone has a blessed day!

Good Morning cyn. This is going to be a difficult time for you; don't over identify with your neighbor....as you noted there are differences in how people deal with loss and grief and the supports available. Try to avoid comparisons and over identification. Of course you will be helpful as needed....but you are not "on duty" and other than good neighborliness and acts of kindness which come natural to you....the fact that you both are widowed by ALS doesnt compell or obligate you in any way.

I like your neighbors decision to celebrate that their loved ones suffering is over and he has been released....as the hymn puts it "His trumph has begun. "

Peace to you my friend.

Good morning friends!
My boss asked me last night if I could work this morning---we are having a yard sale at the Petsense store and donating the profits to the Humane Society. He said I'd get paid so there is 2 very good reasons to do it. So I am out the door--have a blessed day everyone!

Yes to cool weather! 3 mornings in Central Texas I turned on mini heater. Unheard of around here! AC on yesterday late on the west side of house.

Good luck Cyn. Everyone have a great weekend.

I'm off to Fort Hood to see the Budweiser Clydesdales and a free BBQ.

Just waiting for the yard guy.

Yesterday would have been my 33rd wedding anniversary. It gave me pause but I wasn't sad all day. Time really does help heal. He's been gone 6 years and 8 1/2 months.
