It's been a week since my mom passed away from a life-threatening condition called HLH (hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis). I still can't believe and I miss her so much. As she lived in another country, It's been a few months she was sick and my aunt was there taking care of her but God took her away, she's in heaven right now I know this and I'm regret so much a lot of things I wish I did or told her. Anyway I just want to share this, part of me is dead right now! Another issue to deal in therapy, oh My God help me!
My mom was a WWII bride who moved to America. Both of her parents and all of her siblings, five of them, died when she was here. Her mom and older sister were the worst ones.
It takes quite a while, but you finally come to terms with it.
OP...i'm so sorry for your loss.I really think that losing your mom is one of the hardest losses. I lost my mom a yr ago, and still find myself teary at times and i just miss her so much. I've lost a dad and 2 brothers but mom's death really hit me so much harder.
Man, I'm sorry to hear that. I'd like to tell you you'll get over it, but my mom died back in 2003 and it still feels like a fresh wound.
About the only good thing I can tell you is that while you may never get over it (and then again, you might. Everybody's different), it will get easier to live with after a while.
So sorry you're going through this. Lost dad, mom, two husbands, several loved pets, two violin teachers. I miss mom and dad, still, and I'm elderly myself and it's been decades. Every once in a while something will trigger a memory.
I was particularly close to my dad and literally cried all day when he died. Daddy's girl. Boys are often closer to their moms. A good cry helps. We're so constituted that the crying relieves the pain of loss. And over time, all the good memories will come to the fore and the rest forgotten. It will be okay.
I'm sorry to see this news, Joshua. Death of a parent, especially too young, is one of the hardest things we deal with. My father died at the age of 58 when I was 21 so I also have a bit of experience with the issue.
