3 years ago on my birthday I walked into my son's room and found him bleeding through the nose very pale I checked in and found out that he had passed away through the night. So birthdays last couple years that kind of sucked, but I keep my head up for the rest of my kids. I race them myself my wife walked out on us when they were really young it's always been me that they had oh, I was supposed to protecting I never would have thought that pneumonia would have took my child from me at 20 years old 6 foot 1 healthy as an ox only had two months to go until he left for the military get enlisted in the army I never even got a chance to leave. I've never talked to anyone about it and I'm kind of wondering if there is a place near me that anyone would know of that I could go to and talk to him I don't want to deal with psychiatrist or psychologist because I don't want their medications. I live in Ohio and it's city called Wilmington on close to Cincinnati and Dayton so if anyone has any ideas of what's around me that I can go to or even a forum or heck just even a friend that I can talk to. I live out in the middle of the country where there's nobody at my best friend out here is a squirrel. So any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you Eric

I am sure there is a grief support group somewhere near Cincinnati or Dayton. Give it a try.

Please look for a local grief group. Do a google search for your area.

If you were to see a counselor, who might refer you to a grief group, you would not be given meds. Only a physician or psychiatrist can do that. But if you are deeply depressed or distressed, taking a med for a short time might give you some relief. But your desire to talk is a good one.

Do a google search for a grief group as well as for a grief counselor.

I am so sorry for your loss. I truly am. Please care for yourself. Peace.

I'm so sorry. My mom lost my 2 brothers at age 40, and 55. Cancer and liver failure.
She said its a loss you just can't accept because it is out of the natural order. The book by George anderson "We do not die" ( or maybe its "we don't die") really comforted her.

I have no advice, just want to say I’m so sorry for your loss. To you also, debey. That has to be the worst thing to go through, losing a child.

I do second the suggestion that you check out the Compassionate Friends organization. Good luck to you.

Hospice of Cincinnati in Blue Ash, right off Reed Hartman has free grief counseling services available ( I know that they did before COVID) I would start bt calling them

They were a great help to MrsM's family after her dad died. They are one of the only organizations that we donate to regularly.

I'm so sorry, Eric. It must be unimaginable to go through this.
