I read that Omaha (in a 2008 study) was #1 in best relocating mid-size cities. Congrats. Buffalo was #5. Much of what you wrote is a lot like here.... even with desire to build a new *football* stadium.

Buffalo (and Niagara Falls) have been looking at older buildings being redesigned into condos for more than a year including a vacant High school building. Condo living is becoming the trend of "downtown living" here in the CoB.

Omaha has several condo projects going on downtown, including the 32 story wallstreet tower, along with a pedestrian bridge across the river, a new baseball stadium, possible building of another new commercial skyscraper, our zoo is expanding, UNO is expanding their medical complexes, and finally, we could be getting a Hyatt Regency.
