I have noticed many are biased against black rifles. To any that question what or why. A black rifle is one often considered a assault rifle with synthetic furniture stocks. I have owned a few. A Uzi, HK92, AR15, HK M3. One I did not even consider was a Ruger Police Carbine in 9mm. My neighbor was interested until he seen the rifle, than he said "oh, a black rifle". He fought in Vietnam so I can understand.
For me the synthetic stock means little. My HK M3 is also available in a close copy with wood furniture. As far as the Ruger it looks a lot like the little 10/22 with a plastic stock. I do love my firearms in wood, the ones born in plastic are fine as well.
Unclear on your question OP. Are you asking why some support the Clintonista "assault weapons ban"? Or, why some identify them as ERBs as a result of the cosmetic definitions contained in the aformentioned now expired (pray never to be revived) ban?

OP never even mentioned politics, unless wood vs plastic has some hidden political meaning now.
I like wood or metal stuff, but the "polymer" they're making this stuff out of nowadays is ridiculously light and strong- I've seen some stuff that's just crazy. Glass-reinforced nylon, etc.
I like the higher quality synthetic stocks, I have a few of them as far as what people think when they see a sporting rifle with a black stock is they know very little about rifles if they think it makes it an assult rifle
It's just a fad name....the people that have been in the military don't really like them...(not everyone in the military, but most) cause they are not that reliable.....
The newer versions that are out there other than gas operated one are getitng better, along with better calibers/heavier calibers.
Then there are the people who feel all military looking rifles should be banned...just because of the look (black rifle)
A semi-automatic rifle, with a black synthetic stock is no more "evil", than a knife, a baseball bat, a tire-rod iron, or an entire automobile. There's nothing evil about an AK-47, an AR-15, or any other semi-automatic weapon. In a self-defense situation, such a weapon will be a great asset in fire power to quell any evil that's perpetrated by evil individuals.

When someone posts a thread about black rifles and includes the word "evil", politics are involved as the two were never associated together prior to the Biden/Clinton ban.

kshe95girl,
Time for you to either wake up, or go back to sleep. Bill Clinton did make a big thing out of rifles with black plastic stocks. It was one of his political moves to make anything with a black plastic stock seem evil, and not something we 'needed', and he tried to ban them for our own protection. I don't know if he is the one that coined the name "assault rifle" or not, but many rifles fell into this same category, regardless of whether they were used for sporting purposes or other uses. The agenda of his party is to take arms out of the hands of American people, period. Now, you know the rest of the story.
