Gun dealers flooded the FBI with background check requests for prospective buyers last Friday, smashing the single-day, all-time high by 32%, according to bureau records.
Deputy Assistant FBI Director Jerry Pender said the checks, required by federal law, surged to 129,166 during the day, far surpassing the previous high of 97,848 on Black Friday of 2008.
... said 25% of the purchases typically involve first-time buyers, many of them women.
There is definitely a renewed interest among American's in exercising their right to own guns.
great, now if all the 66 million who are riding FREE on us 4 million NRA members would cough up a bit of money, we could "unelect" EVERY LAST anti gun senator! then why CARE who is prez or what the House does, hmm? 70 million x $35 a year is a helluva lot of money, and only 1/3rd of senators stand for reelection, every 2 years. We'd get ALL the 40% or so who are antigun in 6 years! We could spend 1/2 billion each on the worst ones, like Shumer, and some of the lesser ones could be gotten rid of with 100mill, or even less.
