Went to BWW yesterday and saw the dreaded "no guns allowed" sign on the door, I think the first I have seen in MS and neighboring TN, outside of one Tunica casino (by the way, you can legally carry in a resteraunt that serves alcohol in MS and TN).

I could have put my firearm in my car safe, but I was prepared to leave and just voice my complaints at the entrance. So I went to girl up front and said "We would like to eat here but I have a problem - you have a sign on the front preventing legal gun carriers to eat here". I was prepared to talk to her manager. She seemed confused and said she never even seen the sign before and told me don't worry about it and it was OK.

So we ate and enjoyed our dinner, with my XD behind my right hip. Still it irks me. Apparantly, from what I had read this morning it is a corporate policy. I may stay away on principle in the future (the resteraunt personally exempting me or not), and I would advise everyone to do the same.

Well it's their business and their right. Anti-gun implies that they are actively engaged in anti-2nd causes. Which they might be at a Corporate Level.

Even in the Old West lots of establishments made you check your guns at the door before entering.

You need to beat up the state legislatures. When I was in Texas, they passed a law prohibiting stores from prohibiting carry people from using their stores. Maybe somebody from Texas can expound upon that. We need to get that law in every state.

Our local Wal-Mart had that sign. I went to the manager and asked him why the prohibited lawful carry? He said it was a Wal-Mart policy. I explained to him that I had been in a lot of Wal-Mart's and they didn't have that sign and I also explained how I was going to pass the word in letters to the editor, friends family, and anybody else I could listen to, including everybody at the gun club. I don't know if I made a difference, but a week later they took down the sign.

Of course, that is not an argument at all, but it's my right to refuse to be a customer and to advise others to not be as well.
I think we can all agree their policy is not a safety issue, but a political and idealogical issue.

By the way Buffallo Wild Wings Management - how is that prohibition on guns on your property working for ya?

Absolutely agree with your position and that stated by EH above. Just stating my libertarian postion on this topic. Let them suffer the consequences negative or positive.

I think your views on political and ideological issues have caused you to assume things that aren’t necessarily true. Many would agree that it is a safety issue.

By the way Buffalo Wild Wings Management - how many customers haven’t been killed or wounded due to shootouts between robbers and drunk armed Rambo-wannabe customers?

Oh yeah and I personally think their wings are not very good. The ones I get from Costco are bigger and taste better coming out of my oven for a third of the price.

Ouch. This is officially a "no holds barred" discussion after that comment!

I have never understood the concept of "I MUST carry my gun at all times!!!"
Not sure if it is paranoia or low self esteem.
But as a small business owner, your 2nd amendment rights end at my door.

I agree. A private business owner should be able to regulate what enters his place of business. In turn, consumers have the right to choose to do business elsewhere. Mutual respect toward another's position gets us a long way.
