When my hair has been buzzed I always get mixed reviews, but when I grow it out a bit, I get a lot of complements, short or grown out? What is the preferred way

I don't mind it buzzed but I guess it depends on the guy - maybe it just doesn't suit you personally.

I prefer more hair. I don't like the "skin-head" look and few people have really shapely skulls.

It all depends on your hair. Some guys have awful hair when it grows out and look much better buzzed...my husband is one of them...and some have great hair and should keep it grown out! Sounds like you're in the latter group my friend. Listen to the compliments and keep it longer!!!

I personally hate it. I like a man with hair so I can run my finger through it and it feels soft. And also my first impression of a buzz cut is of a skin-head or football hooligan so not very positive. I know it's unfair but I tend to find it really off putting..

Hubby'hair was massacred a few years back by a hairdresser who thought all men should look as though they had just enroled in boot camp and I really, really, really hated it. Thank goodness it grew back fairly quickly as I used to have to close my eyes and think of him with hair.

I think the buzz cut only makes certain guys look like skin-heads. Others, it makes them look like off-duty soldiers and I like that look. Again, it really depends on the guy.

As said already, it depends on the guy.

^ This. Very short hair looks terrific on the right guy.

I like to see longer hair on men. Not a buzz cut. (If a guy is balding, sometimes the completely shaved head look can be good, depending on the person.....otherwise, prefer men's hair to be grown out a bit.) In fact, I usually remind my husband when he goes for a haircut, "now...not too short!"

Not a fan of buzzed, shaved heads, or military-ish/cop-ish high-and-tights. I just don't go for the whole, "I'm a bad ass" look. But I know plenty of women who are.

Some guys don't have nice hair. For them, it doesn't look great when it's grown out, and all you can really do is minimize it by keeping it pretty shorn. But for guys who have great, luxuriant, nice hair, I can't really see the merit in buzzing it off.
