Hi, I normally go to my stylist, but I am unemployed and need to do this myself. I have permanent color with highlights. I'm thinking I want to go to a solid color. My roots are darker in the roots which are grown out about 3 inches or so. If I want to do an all over color how do I do it so it doesn't grab more in one area over the other? Should I start with the roots and leave on for how long and then work into the rest??? Thanks!

I'm very experienced with at home hair color.

Before I can answer your questions I need to know

What is your natural color?

What is your base color?

What color are your highlights?

What color are you planning on dying your hair at home?

Also is your hair healthy, damaged or somewhere in between?

My natural color is dark brown/medium brown. I color my hair at home successfully thanks to a lot of practice and research. My base color is light brown, and my highlights are blonde and honey blonde.

Look at this line. If there is a base color you like, it is a great in box product.
