-wash your hair.
-braids is one way to curl your hair.

I agree with oh-eve. I also have very straight short hair and I watched Karmin now I use my Karmin G3 Salon Pro Hair Styling Iron just as well as my hairdresser does! Watch and learn, it takes a little time but it is worth it.
