I think hot water can clean hair just fine. Its just dead stuff, it doesn't produce oil on its own. Scalp is another thing. I get some oily dandruffy build up. Water won't cut it.

Shampoos can leave your hair feeling worse actually as its not natural........

Some shampoos i have used over the years makes my hair feel wierd afterwards!!! (I also try to use only water)

I gave up shampoo about twenty years ago and just condition my hair in the shower unless I've been doing something that makes me need to shampoo my hair (campfire stink, swimming in the ocean, etc).

My husband gave up shampooing his hair a couple of years ago and loves it.

OP, stop with the hot water and start moving towards cooler water. The hot water is horrible for your hair.

Also, no offense, you could use a haircut and a good shave
