We are moving to VB this summer, and will be down in May to find a rental. When we come in May we will bring our cat as shipping him in the summer is not cost effective, and we really don't want to have him drive with us when we drive down from Alberta Canada in July. We need to know some names of great kitty boarders in the Norfolk or VB area. It doesnt really matter where, all that really matters is that the kennel is highly rated. Our cat will likely be in the kennel for 6-8 weeks so it really needs to be a great place, with people who will interact with the cat.

Try Hunt Club Farm. We always take our dog there and when we pick her up she's always happy and healthy

Shipp's Corner Pet Spa has great accommodations for cats. We take our JRT there for the Queen Spa when we travel.

I'm confused as to why you don't just bring the cat down in July with you?? You're putting the cat in a very stressful position by keeping him away from his loved ones for so long. Really that's not fair to the cat.

Hi Coconut1 - yes, I agree - this will put the cat in a very stressful situation. We actually have gone back and forth with this decision. In July, we were to be driving down - an 8 day drive. Having the cat with us for that length of time in the car would be much more stressful on all of us - and dangerous for the kitty should he run away when we stop for bathroom breaks/hotels. Right now, we are actually discussing shipping the car and flying down in July - which means the kitty only will need to be in a kennel for a few days until we get settled into our new place (if at all - depending on whether the new place is ready for him when we arrive). Either way, the information regarding a kennel is informative to us, as there will be time we will need to use one during the time we are down there (if we cannot find a kitty babysitter like we have here). Thanks for your input as this is making my decision a little easier.

I agree with you on that one. You don't need something happening to him on the road, that's for sure. We do have pet sitters here as well.
