My daughter was accepted into the IB program at Plaza, and I am trying to figure out how to get her to school in the mornings next year and still remain employed. If the bus schedule does not change, she would be picked up after 8:45 in my neighborhood. I am not leaving an 11-year-old alone in the mornings (she would be the only kid from my neighborhood going to plaza). As far as I can tell, parks and rec has no program at Plaza. How do these schools expect parents to be able to get to work at a reasonable time? Any advice on what to do would be greatly appreciated! The elementary school bus currently picks up a little after 8:00, so that's not been an issue.

Some have a zero bell, tutoring, and/or study clubs in the mornings before school. Parents can drop off at. I had to arrange to drop my son at a friends house. Thankfully his friends parents do the drop off because 8:00 am is still too late for my job. Call the school, and ask for ideas. Trust me you're not the only parent with this issue. As for the time it's to save money on buses.
