Aramada Hoffler to develop next phase of Town Center &middot Industries | Virginia Business

So what I'm wondering- unless VB is heavily subsidizing the project (I wouldn't put it past Sessoms and his cronies), if they keep expanding it, it MUST be successful. So when are other companies going to start building there?

Eventually you'll have to just start calling it downtown.

It's really not quite there yet.

Contrived is a good word to describe it.

Deal with it; Virginia Beach's master plan is for the entire area to become mid-rise going all the way to the Oceanfront.

I'm just glad that they're finally getting another performing arts theater.

Oh, I have no problem with this. I mean, it'll be really nice if we actually have a sizeable downtown, but right now, it's a bit of a joke.

I know smaller cities with larger downtowns. It took Virginia Beach a while to get their ducks in a row. Rest assured they won't sleep until they are far are beyond anything going on in Norfolk or the other cities.

They should be, given their land, and given their population. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out. It could be the next Toronto.

How so? Was Toronto in a similar position?

I think one of the main things holding the region back is the infrastructure. If we can get the South Eastern Parkway and some new bridges over the harbor, it'd definitely be an enormous boon for the entire area.
