Hello all!

Just curious to see if Yorktown Beach is open at night. I know most shops and such around there probably close at a decent hour but are people allowed on the beach at night? Is there parking available at night? Or is it considered trespassing where we would be asked to leave if someone saw we were there?

I used to go there all the time and never had any problems. Always a bunch of people there at night on the weekends.

Use caution in the areas surrounding the beach though. According to some police officer, York County passed a law about 15 years ago that prohibited people from being on public property after dark(schools, docks, parks, etc.).

A friend and I were at the monument one weekend night and we had Johnny Law tell us we were trespassing and ran our IDs. He was also the one that said it was illegal to be on public property after dark. He was a real jerk, so don't take my word on that.

There's plenty of parking in the public lots, and I don't believe that they physically close them off.
