My husband just found out that were are going to be stationed at Langley AFB this November and we have been looking for places to live. We don't have any children yet, it is just my husband and I... and our three cats. I was curious if anyone could tell us about the area. There is a condo that we really like in an area called Southall Landing (well I think that is what it is called) but because we have never been to VA before, we have no idea what the neighborhoods are like. Can anyone share their opinions of the area/ neighborhood? Thanks in advance!

Ok, I just found out that it is in the Fox Hill area. Maybe Southhall Landing was the name of the condos, I don't know. Anyway, does anyone have any information about the area? The condo we are interested in is on Mainsail Drive. Thanks!

southhall landing is a nice area right on the water, across from Salts pond marina, has nice pool boat docks etc. I wouldn"t hesitate to move there

Yep, great place to live - can be kinda pricey however. Not a lot of options when you just want to go and pick up some basic staples either - there's a Food Lion a few minutes away. It's not in the best area however. As of this pm, there's 14 condo's for sale, with prices ranging from $204, 100 to $485,900. You may want to check out the condos at Salt Ponds too.

Just be careful, Southall Landings has beautiful condos but all owners were recently assessed $40,000 (no matter what size of condo) for exterior repairs (removing EFIS, window, doors and replacing with siding). They have found extensive work that still needs to be done and more money maybe down the road. The work currently being done will take approximately 2 years to finish all areas. The clubhouse is also going to have to have the same EFIS/window/door work done on it with cost going to homeowners. It is a great neighborhood with wonderful amenities.
