I'd imagine having such a large military population and being located on a beach probably contribute to that.

Thats halfway true. One of the cities in america with the best beaches and supposedly best looking people got named the FATTEST which is the city of Miami. Weird huh? Yeah go figure.

We have the resources here to eat healthy. Seafood, vegetables and markets that promote healthy eating and many, many gyms, recreation centers and YMCA's. Plus, if you go to Mt. Trashmore on any given day, you see people walking, jogging and exercising. Seashore State Park, you see people biking and hiking.

It's all in who you want to believe, if you google this info you will find reports that have the Hampton Roads area way down toward the bottom on the list.....Has anyone on this board ever been questioned about how healthy of a life style they live? (outside from your own doctor) Sometimes I really have to question where these different reports get their info from......

Depends on the report and when it was reported. Like a census, they take reported health factors. As AARP reports, they take the number of reported data.
It can change month to month, depending on the statistical report.
