I am considering moving to Harrisburg from NYC and would like a few suggestions of relatively inexpensive hotels to stay in the area that were not affected by the recent flooding. Is there an area I should avoid completely? This is important because I have mold allergies and I want to avoid areas that have had flooding issues.

In the city proper, the downtown hotels were not impacted by flooding at all. In the surrounding region, most of the suburban hotels were not impacted. You might want to pick out a few choices on a travel site like Travelocity, Expedia, or Orbitz, then check their map to make sure they aren't next to a creek or stream.
