Water heater, electric stove and the dryer all consume relatively large amounts of electricity. Water heaters use around 4000 watts which translates to about 1.60 an hour (at 40 cents a kwh). Solar hot water heaters are amazing and I highly recommend them. If you aren't using fluorescent light bulbs, make the switch. They aren't that expensive and every little bit helps. Good luck!
