Blogs for making money stretch here? (sales, salons, home)

I'm wondering if anyone knows of any good blogs about local deals, etc.

I follow Money Saving Mom® :: Helping You Be a Better Home Economist and a few others from the mainland. They are a huge help, and I learn so much! But often, the deals don't apply. Like CVS or Publix deals. Plus, the deals are usually off by a little bit when applied here, since there is a mark up at most chain stores. And of course, there is nothing in them that applies to local chains, like Ben Franklin, etc.

I would love to follow a blog that talks about making money stretch in Hawaii, current things to do for cheap, local deals, etc.

Any ideas?

If I can't find one... maybe I'll start one!

Things at stores vary widely by island.

ps - Ben Franklin is not a local chain. They are national, all over the mainland.

groupon.com and livingsocial.com

both have deals for local businesses, like spas/salons, local restaurants, etc. usually at half off.

for example, the other day there was a deal for sam choy's on livingsocial.com - pay $25 for $50 worth of food.

and found several, but they were all out of date. A year old or more.

Here = Oahu.

I was under the impression that the Ben Franklin's here are all locally owned, hence the big difference between them and the ones on the mainland. Their sales are totally different, etc.

Thanks! I subscribe to Groupon emails, but I don't know anyone who does livingsocial, so I wasn't sure if they were legit. Have you used them?

Thanks for looking! I've searched for one, but haven't found anything current and useful. Seems word of mouth is more succesful with blogs.

1. Ben Franklin is a franchise and they all can set their own pricing
2. Shipping costs to Hawaii add up to the difference

2. Hence my point in original post that mainland blogs are often off in pricing due to the mark up in Hawaii.

Regardless, understanding the true nature of Ben Franklin doesn't help me find a blog. But thanks for making sure I understand that you are right, even if it no way provides an answer to my actual question.
