There ya go! A niche market you can fill! I've always kinda wanted a canary but never found any for sale. For the past several months, I've been searching for English Angora rabbits that aren't already related to the two that I have, but with no luck. It's all part of being an island, frequently there either aren't any of the species of animal/pet you want or there is a very limited genetic pool for the ones that are here.
Can you get someone to bring you some from the mainland when they come to visit? They'd have to undoubtedly get them inspected at the Honolulu airport, but if they were routing through there anyway, it might be easy enough for them to add a box of canaries to their luggage. Much cheaper than shipping them separately, anyway. I've got my youngest brother talked into being a rabbit wrassler and bringing a couple with him in his luggage next spring. Younger siblings are always good for leaning on, they are kinda used to it.
Have you tried asking on Craig's List? Putting notes up on bulletin boards where they sell bird seed? Asking the local veterinaries?
