Default Farmer's Markets

We have been to the Hilo market and the one held in Hale'iwa, Oahu.
I was wondering if there are markets similar in size to the Hilo market that are held on the island of Oahu?

The majority of inter-island goods go by barge, and the company that does that is Young Brothers. "Inexpensively" is in the eye of the Beholder.

Here is what Young Bros. says about it:

+ Young Brothers, Limited +

Their rates are contained in a very long tariff, starting on page 41, which you can download here:

If speed is of the essence...
Air Cargo Service | Hawaii Air Freight Service | Aloha Air Cargo
Hawaiian Airlines Cargo: Interisland Rates (http://www.hawaiianair.com/Programs/Pages/InterislandRates.aspx - broken link)
Freight Shipping « Island Air Hawaii

If you get to know some airline employees and frequent flyers, you can set up a "grocery/shopping" hui ("club", "alliance", etc.) and ship goods for "next-to-nothing."

It depends on how you want to ship it and what it is you are shipping. General freight on Young Brothers where you drop it off and pick it up at the port is pretty inexpensive. Anything else gets much more expensive, but that's only for now, they are asking for a - what was it 24% ? - increase in shipping fees.

Yep, 24% increase. If approved, and it seems as if it will be, the cost of most goods, including groceries, will go up as a result.

It's a good time to start a garden, if you haven't already.
