Hi! I am buying movie passes for friends who live in Kailua - with the hopes of sending them to dinner too. The address of the theater is:

46-056 Kamehameha Highway
Kaneohe, HI 96744

According to Fandango, this seemed like the closest theater to their home.

Can anyone suggest good restaurants in the area - either a national chain that I may be able to get a gift cert - or a place that has a website where I could order the gift card. This family has two children, ages 9 and 5.

Thanks so much for your help-

Oh, sorry. CPK is in Kailua, not Kaneohe.

Use Google Map to locate the theater, then use the search function to bring up restaurants in the area.

I'd vote for Haleiwa Joe's (the Kaneohe location)... about a mile from the theater, family friendly, but not a mainland chain. I guess it's sort of a chain, since there's also one in Haleiwa, but ...

I've also heard good things about El Mariachi... There's really no truly good Mexican food here, but El Mariachi is a sister restaurant to the best we've found (Mexico on School Street). It's supposed to be good for families, and is another local option. (According to google maps, it's .3 miles from the theater.)
