What should one know about exploring the jungle on Maui. And by exploring, I mean hunting and hiking. It would be great to get some local input on the subject.
you'll need hunter education classes and a hunting license in order to hunt. considering that you'll have non resident status, it will be $95 for the license. as i understand it DLNR does follow up if there are complaints, like hunting at night and etc. https://hunting.ehawaii.gov/hunting/...E525F20.olomea
not to mention you'll be competing with local hunters, so you need to make sure you're not hunting on private property.
Yes, good to remember that just because you CAN get somewhere, doesn't mean you SHOULD be there. Lots of private land, and not always posted. Be careful out there, and respectful of those who live in the vicinity.
And, as I am no fool, I dont plan to just wander into the jungle with a gun looking for dinner. The first 10+ times I go, Im going with a local, so that they can show me the ropes!
Location: not sure, but there's a hell of a lot of water around here!
