Friends and I are going to be going to Hawaii for spring break 2012.

we're gonna try to gather as many people as possible to go.

are there any like "get away houses" in hawaii that people rent out for a few days?

were thinking 6 nights or so.

what would be the best/cheapest way for this trip? anyone have any idea?

thanks for the replies

Do you have any idea which island? There are vacation rentals everywhere but I would imagine you young people would enjoy Oahu or Maui the most. Check vacation rental websites and you should find something easily. It will be pricey so be prepared for that.

VRBO is a good source, but check carefully for legit renters and try and get a referral.

I agree. VRBO is a good source, but don't necessarily go with the first one. Do some homework.

Totally agree that VRBO is your best bet. I had family come to visit when I lived there (total of 8 people) and they rented a house through there. If you want cheap, you could go with a hostel... but VRBO is the best way to rent a whole house and keep your group together

You can also request group airfare if you go through certain airlines, since you have a group of 10 (or more). They will offer you a better airfare since you're coming together. Just thought I'd mention that.

Default Traveling to Hawaii with a group

Traveling in group is always a good idea as it leads to good savings. You can easily find vacation rentals or apartments at low rates, hire a rental vehicle and split the expenses.
