I like to lift weights, do Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, hike & bike.

I don't like city life. Smaller towns under 5-10,000 make me happy but usually they don't have both a gym & MMA or BJJ available, since they need a good size population to be profitable. (actually 2000 is perfect but that is unlikely to find the gym & school)

So I was hoping some of you can make suggestions if you know of any town that fits my criteria. I am looking up gyms & MMA schools and then cross checking the town but so far I haven't found one yet.

I have a business that supports me, so it doesn't have to be a town that is supported by tourists.....actually that would be a prefrence. I love tourist free zones! Off the beaten path would be awesome.

Hilo has Sean Penn and he has a small gym sort of a school place, I think. If you wanted to get crazy with the exercise, there's always the Ironman on the Kona coast once a year.

I know a guy who does Jiu Jitsu on Maui. I Googled and there are Brazilian JJ places too. Every town on this island is a small town.

Thanks wink, I have been looking hard at Maui. I really want to live in a town I don't have to drive in. I grew up in Key West and that Island is 5 miles long by 1.5 miles wide and I never had a car. Same thing here in Jackson Hole. I bicycle everywhere unless I head out of town.

I am looking for the same lifestyle on a Hawaiian Island

You need a car on Maui. If you can't get around, there's no point living here.

Like I said, I use a bike in town. Groceries, Library, gym etc..

I would bring a car to what ever place I move for when I want to go do something out of town.
