Don't know if you can change the thread title, but it is Oahu.

For rentals with a kitchen, try VRBO® is Vacation Rentals By Owner (http://www.vrbo.com - broken link) You didn't really specify where on the island you wanted to go, but good deals can be found on that site.

For where to go, don't know what you like, so many options - try Great Itineraries in Oahu | Honolulu and Oahu Travel Tips | Fodor's Travel Guides to get a sense of some different options.

I was just there 2 weeks ago, including Maui. Here's a link to the thread I started for some ideas posted by others. I posted some of my pics with scenic drives. I think your kids might enjoy Hanamau Bay for some snorkeling. You can check out the Polynesian Cultural Center for the show "Breath of Life", I enjoyed it.

I don't know how old your kids are but, as a kid, I've always enjoyed learning about US history, you can take them to USS Arizona Memorial in Pear Harbor and it's free of charge.

I didn't enjoy it but your kids might enjoy the maze and train ride at the Dole Plantation.

Have a great trip, you'll love the beaches!

You may want to pack a light jacket. It rains in November there.
Definitely go to the Aloha Swap Meet. Most hotels have shuttles (I think it's still $1 per person to get in the meet). It's worth getting great deals on stuff to take back home. Plus, it's right across the street from the Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor.

if you can afford it, koʻolina (jw marriot or disneyʻs aulani).

the west side is such a beautiful, under-appreciated part of Oahu.
