Since some people keep saying there are a lot of intermarriage between different ethnic groups in Hawaii, with no single group being in a dominant position. Most peaceful relations between different ethnic groups on earth?

Great idea, but there is a single group in a dominant position.

Relations may be more peaceful than most other parts of the world, but I would caution against saying it's some sort of racial/ethnic paradise. There's a book about the topic

http://www.amazon.com/Ethnicity-Ineq...lity+in+hawaii

An excerpt from the book's description: "He shows that socially and economically dominant ethnic groups - Chinese Americans, Japanese Americans, and whites - have stigmatized and subjugated the islands' other ethnic groups - especially Native Hawaiians, Filipino Americans, and Samoans."

And what group is that? In my opinion, whites and Japanese (or East Asians in general) could be considered the top two, but one isn't dominant over the other.

Economically, there is a large disparity between different races and ethnic groups in Hawaii:

I think we do well with different race/ethnicities getting along and marrying. We DO have racism, so I wouldn't idealize Hawaii.

My experience is that Asians are the dominant group. People are people in my opinion, but it is no secret that if you are Asian and you live here, you are assumed local. If you are Caucasian, you are assumed a transplant. That puts one in a more dominant position. Just my opinion. I'm not looking to probe further into the conversation and take over the thread, so feel free to pm me if you want to discuss further.
