Planning a holoholo on the Big Island? Don't miss Waimea's best kept secret: Hulu Sue's. Billed as a family BBQ joint, the talented chef occasionaly prepares a menu fshowcasing a world cusine of the week. German week, French week, Greek week and so on. The food is always fabulous. It's a favortite spot for the locals. Going Honoka'a, drive past the Kamuela Liquor Store (arguably one of the best wine stores in the state) and look for Huli Sue's on the right. There will probably be a chalk blackboard in front advertising the evening or week special. Enjoy!

Helena's and Ono's -- oooo broke da mout'! I know the family that own's Helena's --- great people. Some of the friendliest folks I ever met when I first moved Honolulu from the Big Island. Took me around the island and introduced me to everyone. Back then there was a place across the Honolulu pier - Tasty's I think. Helen's son took me there. Not the Korean food place they got now, but one of those with all picnic tables and family style. The best lobster I ever ate. They would go to the fish market across the stree every morning and all the seafood, fish, produce was fresh that day. Too bad some new building sits there now...
