Just wondering if anyone here has any experience with this cruise line? I have NEVER been on a cruise ship in my life but have see/heard horror stories about them here and there.

To say I am afraid of flying is the understatement of the year! It's not just the flying but the whole claustrophobic thing, being in a place I cannot get out of etc. I go temporarily insane on the plane to the point where opening a door and falling to my death seems a better alternative than being on it I laugh at this idea because it seems ridiculous now, but Im also on the ground and not trapped.
Anyway I did a little research on cruises and found one offered by Holland that is only about $200 more per person. AND it leaves from the LA area eliminating the drive to Oakland for the direct flight to Hilo. So after the gas savings, and the money Ill be saving on buying vodkas on the flight now that you cant bring on liquids (thanks a lot Osama)!!! It will work out to be the same price relatively. I thought it might also be an interesting experience as we have never done it and probably wont be able to any time soon again.
Now the rooms were are talking about are on the inside halls, no fancy views etc, the bare bones trip. But still it would be cool to get up on deck and check out the ocean!
Any thoughts on this or anyone who has used this line before?

We have been on two cruises with Holland America - one to Mexico and one to Alaska. We think that Holland America is excellent! Excellent ships, excellent service, excellent food!
