Ok, finally something interesting......

"If Mufi Hannemann is elected governor he will bring back the Superferry.

That’s the promise the former Honolulu mayor made Tuesday after taking his nomination oath and introducing his running mate, Les Chang."

I would definitely take advantage of that if it were available. Weekend trips to Maui would be super fun if I could drive my car on. Surf trip to Maui without the $100+ fee to bring a surfboard on the plane!!

We would also use it to go shopping, eat out, etc. in Honolulu while our vehicle is at the "official" dealer for the factory.

Mufi and Aiona will take the needed votes from each other. Abercrombie will be bloodied by Ige but be considered the lesser evil. Same as it ever was.

If either Mufi or Aiona drops out earlier, it can get interesting. Especially if one runs on family values and job creation.

I still have my protest signs from last time. I wasn't in the water blocking the ferry, but I was standing on the pier supporting those who were.

Or maybe they'll implement it the right (and legal) way this time, but I doubt it.

At least it helps me determine who NOT to vote for.

I wonder how he is going to bring it back? Start a ferry line himself?

After the huge financial loss to the last company that tried it, there might not be any takers. Or is he talking about using tax payer money and the state will provide one?

Presonally i do not want to go through the process again. I am sure the plan is to use the tax payers again also. Like mentioned above. What company would be willing to support the project.
We're dealing with the High speed rail now. Let it be. Jmho

Hmmm is it me, or does it seem like you give an inch they take five etc etc? Raising the height limits to buildings, lightrail, superferry and before that huge box stores. Open the floodgates folks.

I believe i can honestly make this perdiction. I believe in the near future the bottom is going to fall out of Oahus economy. Why because they are going to change everything way too much and loose what is Hawaii. Then the great exodus will happen when people realise the cost isnt worth the value anymore. Eventually you will have a whole new people in Oahu because they wont realise they are being sold a toyota celica for the same price that a BMW cost 30 years earlier. Goverment and people need to start listening to locals and communities on these issues. Sure people will make alot of money in these things but it wont last long long term.
